Data & Account Security
Learn how MedRemind secures your schedules locally, without server uploads or online trackers.
100% Offline by Design
MedRemind is built as an offline-first app. This means we do not require account creation, sign-up forms, or emails to manage your schedules. All your medication names, logging logs, adherence charts, and stock thresholds are stored strictly on your device's secure local SQLite/Hive database.
Since we do not run server-side database accounts, your sensitive healthcare schedules are never sent to the internet, keeping your private routine safe from leaks or cloud failures.
How to Manage and Wipe Your Data
Because all data remains on your physical device, you have complete control over it. You can manage or delete your tracking logs at any time directly through the app or system settings:
Exporting Your Logs
If you want to create a backup of your logs or share them with your physician, you can export them as a PDF calendar from the Reports tab in the app.
Wiping All Offline Data
If you wish to wipe all schedules, custom reminders, log history, and inventory details from your device, follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your phone.
- Navigate to Apps or Application Manager and select MedRemind.
- Tap on Storage.
- Tap Clear Data (or Clear Storage). This will permanently delete your offline database files.
- Alternatively, uninstalling the MedRemind application will automatically remove all local database directories.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Is any data backed up to Google Drive or iCloud?
- MedRemind does not perform direct custom cloud backups. However, if you have automatic OS system backups enabled on your device (e.g., Google Auto Backup or iCloud device backup), your app data may be included in your system-wide backups.
- Can anyone access my local medication logs?
- Only individuals with access to your unlocked phone can view the app dashboard. We recommend using device pin codes or biometrics to protect your physical phone's privacy.
